Richard Johnston

Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Lieutenant Colonel Richard H. Johnston retired, died on July 19, 2022.

Born in Monet, Missouri on March 28, 1936, Richard attended the University of Missouri, was class president, commander of the ROTC drill team, president of the University Singers, and member of Acacia Fraternity. Through his love of musical theater he met his wife Patsy Jo Needham. After graduation, Richard joined the US Army and the two started their life together in Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He passed just shy of their 63th wedding anniversary.

Richard is survived by his wife Patsy, son David, daughter Darian and grandson Elysian.

A memorial service is planned for October in Hugo, Oklahoma.
