Richard W. McMichael
Richard was born September 15, 1952 in Minneapolis Minnesota and moved to Denver Colorado at 6 weeks of age making him as close to a Colorado native as you can get without actually being born here. His death came peacefully on September 25, 2019.
He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1970. He worked as a carpenter for many years and then went back to school to advance his education, attending Metropolitan State College of Denver, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Design in 1993.
Richard lived his life on his own terms and without regret. He is fondly remembered for his creativity, quick wit, unique sense of humor and perspective on life issues. His interests and activities included art in all forms, music, fishing, nature & wildlife conservation, gardening and furniture design.
He is survived by his sister, Patty and preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Jean McMichael. In lieu of flowers, itâs requested that his life be honored by a donation to the charity of your choice, by planting a tree or volunteering within your community to benefit those less fortunate. Suggested charities include Habitat for Humanity, Alzheimerâs Organization, Denver Rescue Mission or Samaritanâs Purse.
