Richard James Murphy, 74, a life-long Denver, Colorado resident, passed away May 12, 2018 due to health complications. He was born October 26, 1943 in Denver at Mercy Hospital, and will once again join his parents, Cornelius James Murphy and Ellen Victoria (Rosett) Murphy. Richard attended Denver public schools; including North High School and Machinist Trade School. Richard's life-long work was that of a machinist for local industrial firms. Richard was known for absolute perfection of each piece he created. Richardâs sport of choice was cycling. He joined several cycling groups in the area and enjoyed long trips. His bikes were the best money could buy. A big fan of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies he would proudly wear their team caps. Richard loved dogs and all ""critters"". There was always a family dog and he saved their collars as they passed. Richard most recently became a model railroad enthusiast and was building a model layout. Richard was a Christian by faith and possessed a strong study and knowledge of the Bible. He was, also, a well-studied naturalist, having a daily regimen of onion, garlic and supplements. Richard and his ways will be missed by family, friends and neighbors. Richard is survived by numerous cousins located in several states. God bless you, Richard.
