Richard J. Orr

Richard J. Orr (Dick) peacefully entered his eternal life in Heaven on Saturday, July 29, 2023.  He will joyfully reunite with his wife of 59 years, Phyllis M. Orr, who passed away in 2006.  He leaves behind his lovely second wife of 16 years, Mary L. Render and his five children and three wonderful daughters-in-law. Dick will be watching from above the unfolding lives of his five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard was born on May 1, 1921 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  He graduated from the University of Minnesota however, his real passion was all about flying.  With over 25,000 hours of flying experience in the military, commercially and privately, the FAA awarded him the prestigious “Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award” as recognition of over fifty years of professionalism, skill and aviation expertise while piloting aircraft.

To celebrate Richard’s life and the beginning of his eternal life, a Holy Rosary service will be held at Risen Christ Catholic Parish (3060 S. Monaco Pkwy, Denver, CO 80222) on August 11, 2023 at 9:30am.  A Catholic funeral Mass will follow at 10:00am.  A private internment ceremony will occur at St. Simeon Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution to the charity of your choice.
