Richard Henry Prew

Richard Henry Prew, 74, passed away on August 3, 2010. He was born June 10, 1936 in Prarie Du Chien, Crawford County, Wisconsin, to Henry and Eleanor Martin Prew. Richard married Norma Jean Breuer on April 2, 1959. Richard and Norma's family grew to 6 children. They had many happy years living in Wisconsin before moving to Colorado in 1981. Richard worked for the public utilities for 26 years. After retirement, he volunteered at the Food Bank. Richard loved woodworking, carpentry, hunting, fishing and camping. He shared his hobbies with his family during several major remodeling projects, as well as on family vacations and camping trips. Richard was most proud of his family. Richard is survived by wife, Norma J. Prew; children, Barbara Jean Martin, Pardeeville, WI; Donna Mae Lazenby, Stoughton, WI; Geralyn Ann Westphal, Littleton, CO; Mary Ellen Barrett, Arvada, CO, Denise Kaye Pachello, Broomfield, CO; and Steven Richard Prew, Highlands Ranch, CO.; nine grandchildren; Amanda, Mitchell, Jaime, Jason, Rachel, Jessica, Louis, Alexandria, and Riley; two great-grandchildren, Nathan & Noah; three sisters, Jan, Patricia, and Rosemary; and four brothers, Jim, Mark, Greg and Roger. A Holy Rosary will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2010, 3:00pm, at Horan & McConaty, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229. A Memorial Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2010, 11:00 AM at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 506 N. Beaumont Road, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Friends may call at the church on Saturday, September 25, from 10:00 AM until the time of services. Rev. Sam Martin will be officiating. Interment of his cremated remains will be at the Calvary Cemetery, Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
