Richard Lamore Radley

RICHARD LAMORE RADLEY April 16, 1934 to June 15, 2010 Richard Lamore Radley was born April 16, 1934 in Pueblo, Colorado, son of the late Walter LeRoy Radley and his wife Sarah Anderson Radley. He attended Centennial High School, Pueblo, Colorado and graduated with advanced degrees from Western State College and Colorado College. Richard was a teacher and Elementary School Principal in Pueblo and Canon City, Colorado, ending his educational career in the position of Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools in Pueblo, Colorado. His professional and civic membership include membership in N.E.A, C.E.A., United Methodist Church, Salvation Army Board of Directors, West Park Volunteer Fire Department volunteer and later president of the West Park Board of Directors, A.Q.H.A., Pueblo Zoological Society, Sangre de Cristo Arts and Conference Center, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Medicine Horse Program, Botanic Gardens, Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities. Richard's survivors include his beloved wife, JoAnn Wilhelm Radley, son Stephen Carl Radley (Jacqueline Marie) of Parker, Colorado and Lisa Louise Kassel (Chris Eugene Kassel) of Broomfield, Colorado, and grandchildren Trevor Richard Radley, Sarah Jeanette Kassel and Anna Christine Kassel. On August 16, 1959, JoAnn had the distinct honor of marrying Richard and with his kindred spirit, carved out a grounded, peaceful and loving life for them, their children and grandchildren. His character has been defined using words as, integrity, honor, fairness, compassionate, funny, patient when teaching, caring, unconditional love, supportive, faithfulness, humbleness, sincerity, advisor, professional, great decision maker, valued simple things in life, love of horses, dogs, working hard on the farm in Nebraska, love for camping, fly fishing and pride in the upkeep of his home and automobiles. Richard succumbed to cancer. Beloved by many, he stared down his disease until the end. Then he met the hereafter with dignity and grace. His presence and guidance will be felt by our every breath and his love will lift us up on wings of glory until we meet again.
