Richard LeRoy Reed

Dick Reed passed away on January 20th at Porter Hospice in Centennial, CO. Dick was born August 4, 1924 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was married to Betty for 64 years before she passed away in April of 2012. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II & the Korean War, retiring from the U.S. Army Reserve in 1970. He graduated in 1950 from the Univ. of Oklahoma with a degree in Government. Dick & Betty moved to Colorado in 1952 & were longtime residents of Lakewood, CO. He worked for the Colorado Department of Employment for 25 years, retiring in 1989. He enjoyed classical music, historical research & writing. He is survived by daughters Gayle Reed & Lise Garner, brother Al T. Reed & sister-in-law Dolores Reed, sister Gayle Langston & son-in-law Martin Johnson. Military honors will be held at Ft. Logan, Tues., Jan. 29th 1:30pm, Staging Area B, followed by a reception at 2:00pm Pinehurst Country Club Ballroom, 6255 W.
