Richard Simmons

August 15, 1946 — December 7, 2022

Richard Burle Simmons, 76, passed away at home on Dec 7 2022 after a ten year battle with cancer.  He is survived by his five children Michael, Jason, Amanda, Lonnie and Chad as well as several grand and great grand children and his brother Mark and uncles Jim, John and Ronnie.

Rick was born Aug 15 1946 near Ottumwa, IA to Burle and Shirley Simmons.  Rick graduated from Adams City High School in Commerce City, CO in 1964 and went on to honorably serve in the Navy in Vietnam from 1964-1967.

All who knew him loved him for his humor, story telling and perseverance.  Rick was an avid fisherman, enjoyed the freedom of riding his Harley and being with his friends who were like family.

Rick was an elder at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his services will be held at 100 Malley Dr, Northglenn, CO 80233 on December 21 2022 at 9AM with military honors to follow at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.   A brief viewing will be held at 8:30AM before services begin.

There will be a reception in his honor that afternoon starting at 1:30PM at the church on Malley Drive
