Richard Dean Stone ""Stonie""

Richard D. Stone, 77, of Bennett, CO went to be with the Lord on January 3, 2013. He was born on March 27, 1935 in Taos, NM. Survived by his brother, Bob (Vivian) Stone; three children, Rhonda (Steve) Armknecht, Richard Stone, Jr. & Dale (Debra) Stone; fourteen grandchildren & thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Rutherford ""RB"" Stone, mother Dorothy Herdner Stone and two brothers, Byron Stone & Mason Stone. Richard ""Stonie"" joined the US Navy in 1955 and served four years. He was a man of many talents, including carpentry and a craftsman as he loved to invent and create. One of his true passions was playing the guitar, singing & enjoying old time country music. Richard loved spending time with family & friends particularly at the Bull Mountain cabin. His favorite pastimes were hunting, camping & fishing while enjoying the outdoors. Richard found great joy in sponsoring two girls from the Philippines through the Child Fund program and loved receiving letters from them. A celebration of his life will be Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 9998 Grant Street, Thornton, followed by a reception.
