Richard J. Tyrone died peacefully at his home May 15. He was 63. Born in Denver January 7, 1958, Richard attended Kent Denver School and did his undergraduate and graduate work in computer science at the University of Denver, where he was a graduate teaching assistant and redesigned the school’s website. He dodged the lure of a career at Microsoft to stay in Denver and focused his keen intelligence and insight into finance as a personal investor. Kind, compassionate and always patient, Richard, nonetheless, was a keen competitor on the golf course, be it at his family’s Hiwan Golf Club in Evergreen or in Palm Springs. He was a lover of dogs, books, football, politics and ideas. And, of course, his family. His parents, Anthony (Tony) Tyrone and Ellen Tyrone, predeceased him. He is survived by his devoted sister, Karen Tyrone Hansen (James), and his beloved nieces, Caroline Hansen, for whom he was godfather, and Kathleen Hansen Heerdt (Jacob).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard’s name to the Denver Dumb Friends League, 2080 S. Quebec St, Denver, CO 80231.
