Richard Swift Winton (Dick) of Denver, Colorado, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013. Dick was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 18, 1936. He graduated from Morgan Park High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois in 1959. While there he was active in Delta Upsilon Fraternity where he formed many life long friendships. He served in the US Army ReserveâInfantry and was activated during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Dick retired as the manager of automotive special products for Gates Rubber Company after 30 years. He was an avid bicycling enthusiast, biking throughout Europe and participating in ""Ride the Rockies"". He enjoyed skiing and hiking in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Dick was a member of the University Club of Denver including its Legacy Society, and served on the HOA board of Keystone Resorts. Dick is survived by his beloved companion Judy Hansen of Manhattan Beach, California; two brothers, David of Glenview, Illinois, and James of Weston, Conn. Three nieces: Susan Pearsall, Linda Sear, Amy Winton, and one nephew, Andrew Winton, in addition to great nieces and nephews and many friends. Dick was preceded in death by his father Thomas Walter Winton and mother Elisabeth Swift Winton.
