Richard Allen York

Richard Allen York was born in Boone, Iowa on April 5, 1943 to Roland R. and E. Ruth York. He was the oldest of three sons. He was preceded by his parents and one brother, Roland M. York. Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon, as well as daughters, Sherri (Dwight) Stewart, and Jennifer (Michael) Morris, seven grandchildren – Kelly (Seth) Miller, Derek Ash, MacKenzie Morris, Madison Morris, Dalton Baker, Monet Morris and Meaghan Morris – one brother, John & Barb York , sister-in law Sara York, and aunts, uncles and cousins. Richard enjoyed cooking, treating his friends to homemade pies and green chili. He was a fan of blue grass and the old-time country music as well as gospel quartets. He was an active member of Grace Church Aurora where he enjoyed spending time doing whatever building maintenance that he could as well as helping with the youth groups. Most of all Richard enjoyed spending time with his family – driving granddaughters to school in the mornings, sharing recipes with his granddaughters, and often texting messages. He will be remembered and missed by the many people he came to know and care about. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, 12/15 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 15555 E Quincy Avenue, Aurora, CO 80015 with visitation and refreshments following at Grace Church Aurora, 19001 E.
