Richard “Rich” John Kellogg passed away on April 3, 2021 at the age of 80 in Littleton, CO. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile.
He was born to Gerald Jesse and Frances Katherine (Kershisnik) Kellogg on December 15, 1940 in Cheyenne, WY. He has 2 sisters, Jerri Ann McBride and Mary Kay Buckland. He so loved the state of Wyoming as well as his pioneer heritage and his family roots there.
The family moved to Denver in the early 1950s. He attended Littleton High School, Class of 1959 and Denver University, class of 1962. Rich went on to have a long and very successful career of 38 years in aerospace finance. One of his proudest achievements was managing the finances for a Titan space mission project
Rich met the love of his life, Mary Jo, on St. Patrick’s Day in Denver. It was love at first sight. They were married June 25, 1969 and went on to share 51 wonderful years. Together, they had 4 children: Cynthia (Cyndie), Gerald, John & Sarah. His 6 grandchildren, Connor, Claire, Will, Matthew, Connor & Ian were all bright shining lights in his life.
He was an outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, leaving lasting memories while sharing these activities with his family and friends. Restoration of antique cars was his lifelong passion. He was an active member in the Model A Ford Club of CO (serving as club president in 1997) and the High Country Regional Early V8 Club of America. In his retirement, he and Mary Jo participated in many club road trips and activities, traveling as far as Canada in his 1928 Model A. He cherished the fellowship and long-lasting friendships he gained from these groups.
Rich is reunited in Heaven with his beloved son, John Andrew, his parents and his sister, Jerri Ann.
