Patricia (Pat) Denvir Ridgeway died Wednesday, May 12th at home with her family. Pat was born in Connellsvile, PA on March 24, 1924 to the late Nora and John Denvir. She was the fourth child (third girl) in a family of eight. After high school, Pat attended Nursing School at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and received her RN degree in 1945. She entered the Army Nursing Corps from 1945 to 1946 and served in Japan and the Philippines. Upon discharge, Pat headed west to Denver, CO to open the ""new"" VA Hospital. She met her husband V. Joseph Ridgeway, at the Cathedral's Young Persons Club. They were married in 1953 and last year they celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. Pat and Joe reared six sons and at the time of her death she had eleven grandchildren. They have been lifelong members of Notre Dame Catholic Church. She was active in many charities and was always available to help those in need. In 1978 Pat resumed her nursing career and became a Public Health Nurse with the City of Denver working at both the West Side and East Side Health Centre's. She retired in 1986. Patricia was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Vincent and Chris Ridgeway, and their unborn child, her borther, the Rev. James Denvir and sisters Mary, Eileen and Elizabeth. She is survived by her husband V. Joe; her sons, Daniel (Claudia), Robert, Thomas, Patrick (Kate) and James (Elena); her grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation Monday 3pm to 5pm at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 South Wadsworth Boulevard. Rosary Monday 7pm, Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10am, both at Notre Dame Catholic Church located at 2190 South Sheridan Boulevard. Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
