Rick was born September 11, 1987 in Landstuhl, Germany. He passed away January 8, 2007 in Aurora, Colorado. Rick is surviced by his parents. Robert and Jody Helmig; his brother Ryan Lee Helmig; his sisters, Jami Lynn Helmig, and Jessica Renee Helmig; his grandparents, Roger Helmig, Dennis and Beatrice Smith, and Lynda Higley; his step-grandparents, Karen Helmig and James Higley; his great grandmothers, Wilma Brideweser and Mae-Ellen Rogers; His Aunts, Joellen Edwards, Wendy Helmig, Jacquline Smith and Julia Smith; his uncles, Ben Edwards, Sean helmig, Mitchell Smith Steve Smith and Timothy Smith.
