Ricky Herrera, beloved husband, fur dad, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on April 4, 2022 after a valiant battle with cancer and covid.
Ricky was born January 10, 1968 in Denver, Colorado where he lived most of his life. He lived in Germany and California during his service in the US Army.
Ricky is preceeded in death by his parents, Reuben and Betty Lou; sister Linda; brother James; mother-in-law Helen Strong. He is survived by his wife Kim; brothers Reuben (Shelley), Art (Bridget); sister Sandra (Jeremy); father-in-law Steve Strong (Arlene); brothers-in-law Craig, David (Tina); nephews Reuben (Maisha), Archie, Andrew, Stephen, Weyland, Alec, Tanner (Taigan); nieces Brandi, Felicia, Angel (Zach), Christina (Logan), McKenna; numerous great nephews and nieces.
Ricky was married to his best friend Kim and for 23 years they built a life they loved together.
Rick was an athlete who excelled at everything he did and was an avid fly fisherman, golfer and poker player. He lived fearlessly, loved without limits and will be missed beyond measure.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Ricky on Monday, April 25 at 12:00 pm at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227. Internment at Ft Logan immediately following at 1:30pm.
