Rio G. Lucas

Colonel Rio Gus ""King"" Lucas, Ret., USAF, passed away October 25, 2008, in Centennial, Colorado. He was born March 27, 1923, in Denver, Colorado to Rio Gorton and Rose Hirshkovitz Lucas. Survived by his wife, Joyeann Lucas; son, Richard A. Lucas; daughter, Kristin N. Lucas; grandchildren, Bryan & Duffy Lucas; Sister, Vivian (husband, Tony) Delmonico; and many other extended family members and friends who love and will miss him. Preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary; and a brother, Andreas Lucas. A Graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, October 31, 2008, 11:00 a.m., Fairmount Cemetery, 430 South Quebec Street, Denver. Following the Graveside service, a gathering for family and friends to share memories will be held at 1:00 p.m., The Delmonico Hall, 3220 Federal Blvd., Denver.
