On the evening of April 21st, 2008, Rita Brownson, currently residing in Elizabeth, CO, passed away. Rita is survived by her husband Bernard Brownson; her children, Rick, Mark, Mike and Debbie; eight grandchildren; sisters Phyllis Tomko and Gloria Ajello. Born Rita Patricia Canganelly in Derby, CT, on October 18th, 1935. She lived and attended grade school in Shelton, CT, including vocational training in bookkeeping. During her fifty-three years of marriage to Bernard, Rita managed the books for several of the family's businesses until retiring a couple years ago. She loved to collect stamps, coins and research family genealogy. Rita was a world traveler. She and Bernard have been to sixty-eight countries across all seven continents and particularly loved to go on cruises. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, April 26th at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave, Aurora, CO. 80014. In recognition of the respect and care she received at The Denver Hospice during her final days, memorial donations in Rita's name may be made to Denver Hospice, 501 S.
