Rita Ann Diebel

Rita Ann Diebel, age 89 of Denver, CO passed away on March 30, 2016 in Denver. She was born on January 30, 1927 in Hartington, NE to August Joseph and Mary Sophia (Eickhoff) Leise. Rita grew up a farm girl and later moved to Minnesota and then Denver, CO where she met her husband William ""Bill"" Edward Diebel. They later moved to San Francisco, CA and returned to Denver in 1959. Rita and Bill enjoyed various other trips including Hawaii, England and Israel. She worked as a Teacher's Aide and in Secretarial Publishing but really loved living her life to serve her growing family. She could also appreciate the simple things in life as well such as studying scripture, doing puzzles, gardening and watching the birds while visiting with friends and family on her patio. She is survived by her children, Doug (Linda) Diebel, Brian (Sandi) Diebel, Mary Kay (Craig) Wattles and Ken (Penny) Diebel; Grandchildren, Shannon, Kevin, Kyle, Matthew, Joel, Jessica, Jennifer, Brett, Laura, Rachel and Nathan as well as their families including 14 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Richard (Margaret) Leise; sister, Marjorie Miller; and sister-in-laws, Helen and Wilma Jean Leise. Rita was predeceased by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Marisa; brothers, Robert and Ronald; and brother-in-law, Gerry Miller. A service to honor Rita's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel (11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora, CO 80014) with a reception to follow on the premises. Interment will take place privately at a later date at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
