Rita A Mayer

Rita A. Mayer (1939-2012) died Tuesday, January 17, at the Denver Hospice. She is survived by her daughter Beth Mayer of Seattle, brother William Burgett of Overland Park, Kansas, sister Mary Howerter and sister-in-law Linda Burgett of Denver, and their families. Rita worked as a registered nurse and nursing instructor for more than 50 years, serving more than 20 years at Denver's Craig Hospital and Concorde Career Institute. Whether as a mother, sister, aunt, friend, teacher or coworker, Rita will be remembered as selfless, generous, and tough-as-nails, with a feisty, dry sense of humor. She would prefer family and friends remember her unique spirit with a celebration of her life. Therefore, a private memorial and party will be held later this year.
