Rita E. Solo

September 26, 1918 — February 16, 2017

Rita E. Solo, 98 years old, died in her home of 62 years, which she shared with her beloved spouse, Paul Arthur Solo and where her children were raised. She was born in Fort Logan, Colorado, in 1918. She worked in several credit departments including Montgomery Ward, Fashion Bar, and JC Penney's. In her last years of employment, she was an Eligibility Technician for Arapahoe County. She retired at age 65. Rita was an avid bowler, loved going to movies any chance she could get, and enjoyed knitting sweaters for her daughters and grandchildren. She enjoyed word search puzzles. When she watched football, she loved to root for the Broncos. She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Paul A. Solo. She is survived by her children Mary Beth McClain, Pam Solo, Kathy Franche, David Solo, and Barbara Solo. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. There will be a Family Visitation on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 6 PM until 7 PM with a Rosary to follow at 7 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated, Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 10 AM, with a reception to follow. All services will be held at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80227. Interment will be Friday, February 24, 2017 at 9:30 AM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging area ""B"" 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd., Denver, CO 80236. The family will meet at 9:00 AM at Horan & McConaty, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. to process to Fort Logan.
