Rita Vail

Rita Vail, age 98 of Lakewood, Colorado died peacefully on April 26, 2024 just 2 months shy of her 99^th birthday.  Rita was a beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.  She spent almost 20 years as the Secretary at Devinny Elementary in Green Mountain.  The staff and faculty there were her 2^nd family.  After retirement she went back to Devinny as Mother Goose to read to the Kindergartner’s and 1^st Graders.  She was known to them as Grandma Vail.  She spent her last 4 years at Life Care Center of Littleton, where she spread her humor and joy to the Staff.

Rita is survived by her three daughters Jane (spouse Mike), Susan and Carol (spouse Lance); her 5 Grandchildren Jason Hubbard (spouse Katie), Ashley Pakech (spouse Cody), Zach McGaughey (spouse Megan), Drew McGaughey and Derek Sommer; and 6 Great Grandchildren Elise Hubbard, Jordan Hubbard, Kataleena Hubbard, Teddy McGaughey, Kennedy Grider and Cooper Grider.

Her Celebration of Life will take place at Horan & McConaty, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122 on Saturday, June 1, 2024 and 1:00 pm.
