Bob, 82, passed away May 15, 2010, in Centennial, Colorado. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a friend to many. He was born August 18, 1927, to Floyd W. and Fannie Ellen (Baker) Barbour in Bossevain, Virginia. Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Pat; a daughter, Brenda Barbour; a son, Tom (Kim) Barbour; a step-daughter, Linda West; two stepsons, Steve Allen of Fraser, and Mark (Brenda) Allen; a brother, John D. Barbour; a special sister-in-law, Sharon Patterson; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, three brothers and two infant children. A native of Tazewell County, Virginia, a Navy veteran and alumnus of Virginia Tech, Bob came to the Denver area in 1956 as an electrical engineer with the Martin Company (later Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin). He made Denver and the Rocky Mountains his home for more than 50 years and during that time he made his mark as a Realtor, real estate developer, building contractor and entrepreneur. But his greatest loves were his wife and family, all of whom will remember his gentle nature, always sound advice, sharp wit and ability to design, build and fix anything. He asked to remembered as having ""no malice or ill feelings about anyone.""
