Robert J. Baty began his professional career at 15 when he joined the Marine Corps by using his older brother's birth certificate. Seven months later, the Marines found him out and sent him home to his parents in Little Rock, Arkansas. But not for long. At 16, he used that same birth certificate to join the Army. but this time when they found out his real age, his mother said they might as well keep him since he seemed so determined. So, at 16 years old, Baty found himself in combat in Korea. He was wounded twice before it was over. This was the beginning of a military career that lasted 26 years. Out of those years, 16 were spent overseas in places like Japan, Germany, Italy, France, and Greece. He also served in Alaska, Hawaii and all over the continental U.S. He retired as a First Sergeant and moved to Denver where he raised a family with his late wife Sharon. Robert's love will forever live in the hearts of his wife Jeanne, his children Keith, Cindy, Danette and Cheryl, and his grandchildren Jay and Tara.
