Robert Leroy Becker was born August 30, 1932. He was raised and remained in the Denver Metropolitan Area for the majority of his life. He has one sibling; a younger sister named Gloria. His parents were laborers who taught Robert the value of hard work and dedication to one's responsibilities. He served one term in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in the Philippines. When he returned to civilian life his dear friend Glen Borden introduced Robert to his wife's sister Jeanine Burham. They were married in 1956 and had a son, Robert Michael and a daughter Suzanne. His family extended and blessed him with grandchildren Tara, Travis, and Vanessa and great grandchildren Clay, Connor, and Camilla. Robert's family was always the number one priority and source of his happiness. Robert's career was primarily spent at Rocky Flats where he retired after 32 years. In addition to the many assignments he had at Rocky Flats Robert was active as the Chief Steward of the United Steelworkers of America for half of his career. He never stopped his involvement with the union. Robert's interests throughout his life included fishing, camping, singing in the church choir, woodworking with the church, repairing household items, good food, and just about anything his family wanted to do. He was most known for seeing good in all people and treating all with kindness. He always put others before himself and would offer assistance to anyone.
