Robert Daniel Briggs, age 86, died peacefully in his home on September 21, 2020. The loving husband, father and grandfather was born on December 22, 1933, in Denver, CO. He lived most of his life in the Denver Metro area, where he worked for 33 years with Mountain Bell, and later AT & T. Robert graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in 1952. He married his high school sweetheart Jacquelyn Jacques in 1953. He was drafted into the army in July of 1953 and served in Germany. In 1955, he was honorably discharged and came back to Colorado.
Robert was a member of the The American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Throughout his lifetime, he enjoyed sports, mostly watching, such as football and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed coaching youth baseball and enjoyed getting away with his wife in his camper. He will be remembered as being a kind hearted soul who liked to tease people in a lighthearted way.
Robert was a loving husband of 67 years to wife Jacquelyn Briggs, and father of 3 children-Michael G. Briggs(Jacqueline), Christine A. Wright(Stuart) and Catherine M. Trecek(Todd). Robert also had 4 grandchildren- Danielle Tuttle(Stephen), Elise Vinson(Adam Miller), Lindsay Briggs, and Ashley Hough(Chad) and 9 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at St. Bernadette’s Church 1100 Upham, Lakewood, CO, 80215. A rosary will take place at 9:30, with the mass following at 10:00. A reception will be held in the church basement, following the service. Masks and social distancing will be expected. Burial will take place at a later date at Ft. Logan Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to St. Bernadette Catholic Parish.
