Robert Clydesdale, Jr.

April 17, 1922 — June 28, 2008

Robert Clydesdale, Jr, 86, of Lakewood, passed away peacefully, Saturday, June 28, 2008. Robert was a native of Glasgow, Scotland and moved to the United States with his family in 1930. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on December 12, 1941. Served in the Battle of Guadalcanal in the Soloman Islands in the Pacific. He was a veteran of both WWII and Korea. He retired as a Marine Captain in 1962. Bob moved to Denver in 1970, where he completed another career in the financial industry, retiring as a Senior Vice President of GEFCO/GEICO. After retirement in 1980, he and his wife, Mary, have enjoyed traveling extensively around the country and world visiting family and friends. Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary; Children, Nan Clydesdale; Bonnie (Steve) Ward; Robert (Karen) Clydesdale, III; Elizabeth (Tom) Evans; and James (Linda) Clydesdale; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, 12:30PM at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S. Wadsworth Blvd. Lakewood, 80227. Private Burial at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver.
