Robert Barrett Coleman

Robert Barrett Coleman passed away August 29, 2011. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 23, 1927 to Madeline Ann Coleman and James V. Coleman. He graduated from Regis High School in 1945 and was among the 1949 graduating class at the Colorado School of Mines as a Metallurgical Engineer. He later obtained his Master Degree at the University of Utah. He married Evelyn Weiland in 1949 and lived in many places throughout the United States before they decided to make Lakewood, Colorado their home for the last 41 years. Bob retired from Hazen Research in 2002 after an amazing and successful career as a metallurgical engineer. He was a member of the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers. In addition to the many awards he earned, Bob also published and presented several papers all over the world. He is survived by wife Evelyn, his niece, Amy Martin (Salt Lake City, Utah), nephew Tim Farrell (Jacksonville, FL) and three great nieces (Utah). A memorial burial service will be offered on September 24, 2011 at 10:00 am at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, St. Francis of Assisi Mausoleum.
