Robert ""Bob"" Bruce Edison

March 23, 1946 — October 23, 2018

Bob Edison entered my life over 20 years ago. He was a friend of my former husband who died 19 years ago. Before Tom Stafford died, he looked at me and said, ""who will take care of you now""? Nearly 5 years later I married Bob Edison. Bob honored me with the highest of integrity. Bob had been divorced for 12 years. He had been buying family games and asking God to give him a family. Well, he got me, 3 children and 5 grandchildren at that time. Bob and I made an agreement entering our marriage. He did not say anything about the toys, costumes, games and grandchildren items that I kept at the house. I agreed not to say anything about the books and tea that Bob collected. (I think that we both sometimes regretted that commitment!)

As a retired Vice Intelligence Agent for the Defense Intelligence Agency of the US Government, Bob was a specialist in Asian intelligence. He lived in Vietnam during the Vietnam Conflict. His Intelligence work saved thousands of American lives. Bob worked in the Pentagon when he returned from Vietnam. Bob brought to our marriage enough books to fill bookshelves on almost every wall of our basement. Until the week that Bob died one of his greatest pleasures was to search intelligence on his computer. He would ask us to give him elaborate British Intelligence CD's as holiday gifts! He was also an international tea trader. Bob had so much tea that I always said that at his funeral we could have a huge tea party! When I met Bob he was a Minister at our church. He was actively involved in the Prison Ministry. He traveled the state and went to every prison in Colorado encouraging inmates. He loved people!

Bob and I were married at the Chief Hosa Lodge in Evergreen, CO on September 2, 2004. We had a true mountain wedding including smore makers! We went on to buy a small run down cabin near Bailey, CO. The cabin became our project of love and joy together. It also became our reprieve for peace and wonderful family memories. Bob graciously absorbed our love of Disneyland. We have enjoyed many family trips there together. Bob and I have tickets to go to Disneyland by ourselves on December 23 of this year and then to have joined some of our family for a Christmas Cruise to the Baja on December 24! He had been so excited for this upcoming trip!

Bob was born in Cleveland, OH on March 21, 1946, at the same hospital where later, my youngest daughter, Becky, was born on October 28, 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents Laura and Walter Edison and his brother David Edison. He is survived by his wife, Debbie Stafford, his son, Kim Sun Hai Tran (TK), his niece, Christine Reboul, his step children, Matthew Stafford (Isabel), Melissa Johnson and Rebekah Mustacchio. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Bob was also loved and supported by his later-in-life work family at Sprint.

My husband loved me with a protective and encouraging love. He became my best friend. I could talk to Bob about anything. Sometimes he would say to me, ""why don't you run for office again? I will go anywhere with you"". He supported me in my passions and never complained...except that I am a remodeling HGTV and DIY kind of person who forever finds new projects to do…as Bob would climb ladders, rip out sinks and build things for me he would say...""HGTV is man's worst enemy""!!!

I will always love you, Bob Edison!
