Robert William Freimuth (Bob), was born on September 6, 1932, in Torrington, WY to Frank J. Freimuth and Delia L. Freimuth, joining older siblings Frances and Donald. His father’s enterprises included a Ford dealership, a Case implements dealership, and a 1,000-acre wheat farm. Frank also served as the mayor of Lingle, WY and was the largest water well driller in the North Platte River Valley.
Bob's early years were shaped by a love of hunting and fishing. He excelled at high school football, played on the state championship basketball team, and played trombone in the band. After briefly attending the University of Wyoming, Bob followed his older brother to Regis College in Denver, where he earned a business degree in 1954. A devout Catholic, Bob considered his religion the greatest gift his parents gave him, and his college years strengthened his faith.
In July 1954, Bob joined the US Army Counterintelligence Corps, serving as a special agent for three years. After discharge, he worked for Ford Motor Company and later joined Universal Underwriters, insuring car dealerships. A successful salesman, Bob was promoted to Sales Manager and embraced the role of mentoring others. He retired after a distinguished 38-year career.
On January 20, 1962, Bob exchanged vows with Jolene (Lowenberg) Freimuth at Mother of God Catholic Church, and they raised their family in southeast Denver. Both Jolene and their eldest daughter, Carie (John Hughes), preceded Bob in death. He is survived by his children Julie, Christopher (Stacia), and Nancy (John Phillips), and his grandchildren Ella, William, and Joseph.
Bob was sincerely courteous, polite, and willing to listen. His genuine interest in others and his warm, easy smile won him many friends. Bob’s sense of humor was always close at hand, as were his golf clubs, tennis rackets, and fishing rods.
Robert William Freimuth passed away on January 13, 2024. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd, at 1:30 pm at Risen Christ Catholic Church. Donations in his memory can be made to Catholic Charities of Denver at ccdenver.org. Bob's legacy of faith, family, and perseverance will forever be remembered.
