Robert D. Gibbons

Robert D. (Bob) Gibbons, 93, died November 12, 2019. Bob was born in Denver in 1926, grew up in North Denver, and attended North High School. Bob joined the US Navy before his 18th birthday and served in the South Pacific during WWII. School followed the Navy. He graduated in engineering from Colorado State University and remained a supporter of higher education in Colorado throughout his life. Bob enjoyed a rich career specializing in oil and gas exploration for Amoco. He loved golfing, fishing, traveling, enjoying friends, and was a lifelong reader. Bob wasn't the main cook in the house but several of his recipes are still being used by his family.

Bob will be missed by his wife Mary Gibbons, their seven children, fourteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Bob’s celebration of life will be at 1:30 pm, January 4, 2020, at Horan & McConaty, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO. Donations in Bob’s name will be greatly appreciated at the Denver Public Library.
