Mr. Halbert graduated from South High School in 1955. He met the love of his life in 1953, attended Dartmouth on a NROTC Scholarship and was a member of Kappa Sig graduating in 1959. He was in the Marine Corps from 1959 to 1965 where he was a Captain. He served in Camp LeJune, NC and participated in the invasion of the Bay of Pigs. Mr. Halbert was President and CEO of United Bank Insurance Services and a FINRA Aribtrator. He was the past president of the March of Dimes, Valley Country Club and the Dartmouth Alumni Association. He served on the boards of the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, SE Denver Little League, the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with friends and family. His dedication to his country and the USMC never waivered. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Jean; sons Mark (Kathleen) and John (Kristie); brother, David; sister-in-law Jane Frincke; grandsons Joshua, Matthew, Nicholas, William and Jonathon. Services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 4905 E. Yale Ave, Denver, CO 80222 on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors is private at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
