Robert Warren Jeavons

Robert (Bob) Jeavons passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Harvard Square in Denver. Bob was born on May 25, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio to Norman Jeavons and Mildred Stone. He served in the US Navy at the end of World War II. After the war he completed his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and later earned a law degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. He is survived by one brother, Norman Jeavons of Cleveland, four sons – William, Christopher, and Thomas from a first marriage to Mary Ellen (Luff) and Douglas from a 47 year second marriage to Coleen (Nielsen), 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Bob's long career in investment management included work for Standard & Poors in Denver and Chicago, Central Bank & Trust in Denver, and operating his own firm called Alpine Capital Management. He was very active in a wide variety of civic and charitable work, particularly with the National Arthritis Foundation, earning the Charles B. Harding Award for Distinguished Service in 1992 as a result of his commitment to research and care for the disease. Bob was a kind and thoughtful man who will be remembered for his great honesty, integrity, generosity, and strong sense of personal responsibility. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 11150 E. Dartmouth Avenue (at Parker Rd.) in Aurora at 10:00 AM. Memorial donations are suggested in Robert's honor to the Rocky Mountain Arthritis Foundation, 2280 S. Albion St., Denver CO 80222.
