Robert Wayne Knorr

December 6, 1940 — June 13, 2019

Robert Wayne Knorr, our beloved father, husband, granddaddy, brother and so much more passed away June 13, 2019, leaving a hole in our hearts. Born December 6, 1940 to Gerald and Helen Knorr in Denver, Colorado, Bob lived a happy and active 78 years. Bob's greatest joy, and his deepest dedication, was to his family, especially his wife of 55 years Roberna ""Bobbie"" Lou Harper. He dearly loved his children Michele and John and the true apple of his eye, his granddaughter Sarah. There was no game, no practical joke nor earnest effort he would not conceive and carry out in order to bring them happiness.

A life-long Coloradan, Bob graduated with a B.A. in History from Colorado State College in Greeley in 1964. A teacher for 32 years with Littleton Public Schools, Bob reveled in history, and always kept up with current affairs by reading two newspapers every day. Bob developed a special bond with many of his fellow teachers, but none closer than that with Larry Snyder and his wife Lorna. ""Aunt and Uncle"" to their children, Bob and Bobbie mourned the passing of these greatest of friends in recent times.

Bob worked hard to provide for his family, working two jobs for many years, often as a night-time truck driver. He and Bobbie nonetheless found time during many summer breaks from school to pack up the car and drive around the country, eventually visiting nearly all the US states and dozens of National Parks in search of family adventures.

Many of his happiest days were spent at family gatherings at the Ranch - Bobbie's family cabin in the foothills above Denver. At this retreat from the city they gathered for cookouts, games, and just to sit on the porch and watch the songbirds flit about or the deer and elk graze in the meadow. Bob and Bobbie also enjoyed many good friends with whom they shared fun times, supporting Air Force Football through the Quarterback Club, watching Rockies baseball, playing bridge, or rooting for their favorite NASCAR teams. Bob will be fondly remembered, and deeply missed as a generous, hardworking, gentle and intelligent man who loved his family.

Bob is survived by his wife Roberna, daughter Michele and son-in-law Scott, son John and daughter-in-law Meredith (all Aurora, Colo.) and granddaughter Sarah (Macon, Ga.), and preceded in death by his brother Jerry. The Knorr family wants to thank Bob's caregivers at Kaiser Permanente, St. Joseph Hospital, Aviva at Fitzsimons, and Bridges Hospice who brought him great comfort in his last days.
