Robert G. Lankenau, Jr.

Robert Lankenau, Jr. died Saturday, June 13, 2009, in Cheyenne, WY at the age of 84. Robert was born in Brooklyn, New York on August 16, 1924, to Robert and Loretta Lankenau. He married Maryanne Murphy in 1953 and moved out west to Colorado to start his new life. Robert found great joy and fulfillment in teaching and taught for the Catholic Archdiocese of Denver for over 20 years at Cathedral and Machebeuf High Schools. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife and is survived by 9 children and their spouses: Robert III (Cheryl), Anne, Peter (Sandra), Thomas S.J., Mary Whitman (Warren), Jean Phillips (Stephen), John (Megan), Brian, Steven; 10 grandchildren; and numerous Machebeuf students whose lives he touched. Funeral Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 4900 Montview Blvd., Tuesday, 10 a.m. Internment at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 12:15 p.m. Donations may be sent to Bishop Machebeuf High School c/o Robert G.
