Robert Lessar, affectionately known as Bob or Bobby, was born in Walsenburg, Colorado on March 22, 1948. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He met his soul-mate, Linda, just a few months before he left for Vietnam. Upon his return Bob and Linda were married and spent 51 wonderful years together.
Bob worked at Coors Brewing Company for over 30 years and retired in 2017. Over the years, he enjoyed ski trips, his days in Hawaii, golfing, fishing with his brother, riding his Harley, watching the Broncos and spending time with his extended family.
Bob will be greatly missed and forever cherished. He passed away peacefully on September 4, 2023 and is survived by his wife, Linda; his loving companions his cat, Sammy and his dog Shadow; sister-in-Laws Mary Ellen Lessar and Brenda (A.J.) Young; his nieces, who adored him, Jaclyn (John) Hamilton, Debbie (Tom) Lane, Tammy (John) Velasquez, Pamela Cornett, Heather Rossini and Rachel Caraballo; and his nephews, Craig (Erin) Lessar and Malachi Young. He also had several great-nieces and great-nephews, who he made a big impression on; Johnny Velasquez, Dasha Cornett, Trista Velasquez, Hunter Lessar, Shaylee Cornett, Doris Romero, Joshua Frazier, Aaron Fritz, Alexandria Rossini, Elizabeth Rossini, Cheyenne Romero, Emily Caraballo and Michael Frazier.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Antonia Lessar; father, John Lessar, Jr.; sister, Bette Nettles; brother-in- law, Jack Nettles; brother, Ronald “Sonny” Lessar; nieces, Delores Frazier and Faith Romero; nephews, Roger Frazier and Daniel Romero.
Robert’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 21st at 12 pm at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home located at 7577 W. 80th Avenue in Arvada, Colorado. Military burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 2pm. A reception will follow at the Lessar family home.
There is no formal procession from the funeral home to the cemetery. Please be at Staging Area C at Fort Logan by 1:45pm and remain with your vehicle.
