Born in Detroit, Michigan in the spring of 1952. Relocated to Colorado in 1974 and began working with Physician's Ambulance. He graduated from the Denver General Hospital/Saint Anthony Hospital Combined Paramedic Program (Cycle I / Class Alpha) and was employed for the next fourteen years with the Denver General Hospital Paramedic Division as a paramedic, serving nine of those years as the Chief of Paramedics, the youngest ever. During his tenure, Bob instituted of the first Field Training Programs for paramedics in the United States and was the principal author of Denver's first Mass Casualty Plan in 1979. Throughout Bob's career he was instrumental in saving many lives either by his own hands, his plans or the lessons he taught. Becoming a father in 1979 and again in 1984 were true highlights of Bob's life, perhaps only topped by the births of his granddaughters in 2012 and 2014. A memorial service will be held in Bob's honor on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 10:00 am at Fiddler's Green Amphitheater in Englewood, Colorado. The family is asking for donations in lieu of flowers to support the newly established Bob Marlin Paramedic/EMS Scholarship fund. Checks may be made to South Metro Fire Rescue (memo: Bob Marlin Scholarship Fund) and mailed to 9195 E. Mineral Avenue, Centennial, CO 80112.
