Robert, 63, of Thornton, Colorado passed April 2, 2014. He is survived by his mother, Alice Martinez; brother, Ben Martinez; sister, Judy Roybal and brother-in-law Al Roybal; along with his 6 children and their spouses, Ramon (Samantha), Yosette (Glen), Amos (Benni), Joseph (Melissa), Sal, and Chelsie (Jeremy). Robert had 24 grandchildren: Brittney, Brionna, Taylor, Sofia, Isabella, Aubrie, Ronnie, Sara, Kyle, Haylee, Sammy, Courtney, Davina, Elisa, Janessa, Joseph, Jr., Isaiah, Elena, Aliyah, Rylee, Addison, Ivy, and Olivia; and 2 great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Kyler. Preceded in death by his father, Ben C. Martinez; son, Neal Martinez; and grandson, Joshua Gray. Grandpa Robert was not only a smart man, but was very kind hearted. He taught his family to give rather than receive. He always said, ""we are not rich with money, but we are rich with family and friends"" and ""trust in the Lord."" Grandpa Robert served four years in the Navy as a Boatswain's Mate. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze star. He worked hard for many years as a railroad engineer. He recently retired and enjoyed the free time with his family. His words of kindness and wisdom would echo out like a microphone. Grandpa Robert had many hobbies; he loved to fish, sing while playing the guitar, and play pool with his friends and family. He taught his family how to live life to the fullest. He will be missed by all who he has touched. Recitation of the Rosary, Thursday, April 10, 2014, 10 AM, with Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM, both at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7595 North Federal Boulevard, Westminster, Colorado. Interment immediately follows at 12:30 PM, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area ""B"", 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, Denver, Colorado.
