Robert A. ""Bob"" Martinez passed away June 19th. He was born March 4th, 1928 to Lucia Solis Martinez and Aurelio I. Martinez in Del Norte Colorado. Bob moved to Denver with his family when he was 14 and attended West High where he participated in track and basketball. The Denver Post once referred to Bob as the ""Iron Horse"" of West High. Bob joined the army following high school then returned to Denver where he attended DU on the G.I. Bill. Bob first married Mary (Thompson) of Denver. They had 3 sons Ronald, Kevin, Colin. Bob borrowed $500 and started Ankmar Door in 1956. He was an astute businessman and the company was a success. Bob married second to Linda (Corey Jackson) and they had one son, Christopher Martinez of Lakewood. Education was important to Bob and he was proud to be able to send many grandchildren and young adults through college. Bob liked to travel play golf, read, enjoy his many friends, but he was happiest spending time with his extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, his two sons Kevin and Colin, his sisters Juanita (Herrera) and Catherine (Southern) and a brother Edward Martinez. He is survived by his wife Linda of 41 years, his sons Ronald (Linda) of Raymond Colorado, and Christopher (Caitlin Moore) Lakewood, his brother Alonzo Martinez and Sister Estella (Jerry) Marcheski and 13 Grandchildren (expecting another soon), 12 great grandchildren (expecting another soon) and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. Funeral Service for Bob will be held in Horan & McConaty Family Chapel on Friday, June 24th, at 11 am.
