Robert Ellsworth McBride, 87, of Centennial passed away peacefully on May 30, 2014. Robert was born in Ridgely, MD, and lived in the East Coast, and Mid-West, moving to Colorado after his retirement in 1990. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jane Walls, first wife, Helen McBride, second wife, Grace Ann Hardin and daughter-in-law, Ofelia McBride. He is survived by his children Jann McBride (Terry Houk), Nancy Severns (Michael), and Robert McBride, his grandchildren; Ryan Severns (Sarah), Gabriela McBride Guez (Dave) Jon Severns, and Anthony McBride (Jacqueline Sims); and his great grandchild Elias West Severns. Robert graduated from MIT with a Bachelor of Science Degree in business Engineering Administration and was a member of the Tau Beta Pi fraternity. He worked for General Electric Company, Colt Firearms, Applied Power Industries and Pillar Corporation. At the time of his retirement, he was President and owner of Remac Associates, a marketing and international business consulting firm. He enjoyed photography, theater, was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and loved his Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino. His favorite hobby was to travel and he spent many years traveling with his wife, Ann and later his friend Peg Olson. While in Denver he was involved with the Denver Kiwanis Club and St. Luke's United Methodist Church. He was a member of Mensa International, and was a Mason, following in the footsteps of his father and great grandfather. His memorial service will be decided at a later date.
