Robert Joseph Ponicsan, Sr, affectionately known as Bob, joined the love of his life and his loving God in eternal life on July 1, 2021.  Bob was a devoted husband, son, father & grandfather to four loving sons, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Sylvia Anna Ponicsan.  Bob is survived by his four sons & their wives: Robert (Lynda) of DeSoto, TX; Steven (Michele) of Lakewood, CO; Paul of Littleton, CO; and David (Blessing) of Parker, CO.

Bob was born in Scranton, PA, on August 26, 1932.  He lived in Buffalo, NY, where he met Sylvia during High School and was married in 1954 during his Naval service.  Bob is a veteran of the Naval Armed Forces, and he loved his country.  During his years of active duty, Bob served on both the USS Yellowstone AD 27 and the USS Joseph P Kennedy, Jr, DD 850.  He supported many causes that advocated for veterans, and he was a member of The Tin Can Sailors.

Prior to moving to Colorado in 2000, Bob also lived in Buffalo, NY, Nashville, TN, Clearwater, FL, and Lipan, TX.  He will be greatly missed by his family & friends.  Bob’s wish was for a private ceremony with immediate family.  In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his name to the charity of your choice.  Please share your memories of Bob and condolences with his family by signing the guestbook below.
