Robert Charles Schaefer Jr.

June 24, 1943 — February 27, 2024

Robert Charles Schaefer Jr., known to all as Bob, was the son of Robert Charles Schaefer Dr. and Francis (Donaldson) Schaefer. Bob was born June 24th, 1943 in Ronan, Montana. He graduated from Chinook High School in June of 1961 and enlisted in the Air Force where he served during the Vietnam War until 1965. Bob married Linda Morello on November 29, 1966 at Sacred Heart Church in Vineland, New Jersey.

After leaving the Air Force, Bob worked in Millville, New Jersey as an aircraft mechanic until 1972. During this time, Bob and Linda had 3 daughters, Patti, Paula and Pamela and shortly moved the family to Denver . Bob worked in Denver for 21 years as an aircraft mechanic before being transferred to Atlanta, Georgia in 1993 where he and Linda worked and lived until 1996. That year, he had an opportunity to start his own company back in Denver at Centennial Airport working on private aircraft and earned his Private Pilot License and Instrument Rating. 

In 1998, Bob went to work at Dallas Airmotive (now StandardAero) working on private jet engine overhauls. In this role, he was responsible for managing Western U.S. territory and even worked on many celebrity's aircrafts during this time. In addition to working at airports throughout the U.S., Bob had the opportunity to travel internationally to airports in places such as Siberia, South Africa, and Nigeria.

Bob and Linda moved to Cottenwood, Arizona in 2003 where they lived for 11 years.  During this time, Bob was able to retire in 2009 allowing time for volunteer work with St. Vincent De Paul, the Food Pantry, and the Thrift Store. Bob was also active in the Knights of Columbus, serving the community and cooking food for the homeless in the Verde Valley. After moving back to Denver in 2014, Bob donated time to the Cottonwood Ridge HOA, Mount Saint Vincent, and the community of Sprit of Christ Church.

Bob was always considered a "Jack of all trades" and had love for carpentry and woodworking-building custom doll houses, furniture, and toys for his daughters and grandchildren.  He also enjoyed bird watching, fishing, camping, and all things outdoors. Bob loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and made a lasting, significant impression on all their lives.

Bob is survived by his wife Linda of 57 years, his daughters Patti, Paula, and Pamela, and his son-in-law David. He had 5 grandchildren: Paula and David's children, Nathan (27), Grant (25), Megan (22), and Anna (20), and Pamela's daughter, Michaela (21). Grant's wife, Gretchen, also joined the family in September 2023. additionally, Bob is survived by his sister, Kay Steinmetz of Great Falls, Montana and her children, as well as his cousin, Charles Donaldson of Hamilton, Montana.

Bob was loved deeply by his family and friends and will be missed.
