The world has lost a very special man. Rob was born in Margate, England to Sylvia and the late Bobby Joe Simmons. He was born with many challenges and it was often said by 'experts' that he would achieve little - they were wrong. He was a proud graduate of Laradon Hall. He worked for 29 years at Developmental Pathways as an aide for other people with developmental disabilities. He was one of the first consumers that served on an advisory board of the Association of Retarded Citizens (ARC). He was a world traveler, a joyful Special Olympic bowler and a gentleman till the end. He was the best son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his mother, Sylvia Simmons, his sister, Karen Lozow, brother in law, Brad Lozow, niece Emily Lozow and nephew Jake Lozow, also by loving family in Colorado, England, Spain, Texas, Kansas, Utah and California. We thank the nurses and doctors at the CU Medical Center for their care over the last four weeks. Services will be Saturday, July 16, at 2:00pm, at the Horan & McConaty Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80246. In Rob's honor please be brave and be kind. Donations to the Simmons Family Scholarship Endowment Fund at Denver Academy, 4400 E Iliff Ave, Denver, CO 80222, would be greatly appreciated.
