Robert Manley Tynan, the baby of seven children was the only one to be born in Denver and to hear him talk; you would have thought he founded the city. Born on December 12th, 1937 to Anna & Thomas J. Tynan at St. Anthony's Hospital, Bob passed into Heaven on Saturday, September 26th. In his youth, Manley's red hair made him readily identifiable as he roamed Cherry Creek befriending every stray dog and creating a bit of mischief with friends! Manley's father's letters to his boys in the service documented his days/nights growing up at 600 Milwaukee Street during the war years. Manley attended St. John's Elementary School and graduated from Regis Jesuit High School in 1955. The Tynan family's commitment to the Catholic Church took roots early on and their support was/is legendary! In 1957 Bob was lucky enough to marry the love of his life, Betty Stromsoe. Seven children: Ann (Mike Hill), Jim (Aileen), Deb (Bob Tagliani), Kate (Patrick Ridgeway), Tom (Ingrida Couto), Dennis & Kevin, graced Betty & Bob's 20 + years of marriage. Uncle Manley's house was always the gathering spot for family and friends through the years. Betty pre-deceased Bob in death after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Manley's primary business was in owning and operating nursing homes and he truly felt all of the people he worked with over the years, were great friends. Our dad had a special gift of mentoring and recognizing other people's achievements in life. He was a HUGE cheerleader to his grandchildren: Patrick Carr Tynan, Thomas Q. Ridgeway, Natasha Tagliani & Nora E. Ridgeway. Bob also fostered special relationships with so many of our family's next generation and relished the opportunity to share coffee or a meal with them. Most recently Pops dealt with many serious health issues: Skin cancers, Interstitial Lung Disease-Sarcoidosis and was just diagnosed with a brain and lung tumor weeks ago. In his many recent hospitalizations, family and friends turned out in force exasperating many an ICU nurse! There were no less than 5 Catholic priests and dozens of family members surrounding him at the time of his passing. He is truly a blessed man. Manley's recent involvements: >The ""Sun schools""âAt-risk Catholic schools: Annunciation, Presentation, St. Rose of Lima, St. Francis De Sales, Loyola and Guardian Angels--this prior to the inception of the Seeds of Hope campaign. >Board member of Sacred Heart House >Development Committee member at St. Rose of Lima & St. Catherine of Siena >Helped start the Eloy Mares Golf Tournament to benefit Annunciation school >Collaborated on the move of Escuela de Guadalupe from St. Patrick's site to the Presentation site Suggested charities: â¢Jesuitscentralsouthern.org (in memory of his classmate/friend: Fr.
