Robert Alvin Walentine

Robert (Bob) Alvin Walentine, born March 12, 1938, in Minden, Nebraska and passed February 9, 2025, in Arvada, Colorado at age 86. Bob grew up in Bertrand, Nebraska, son of Alvin and Nora and brother to Cynthia (Collingham). 

 Bob married Janet Larson on August 1, 1956. Bob proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force in June 1957. The Air Force took him to Wichita Falls, Texas, as well as Abilene, Texas. Upon completion of his service, the family settled in Westminster, CO, and finally in Arvada. He began his career with Colorado Builders’ Supply Co “COBUSCO” as an Accountant and worked there until 1968. In that year, Bob furthered his career by joining Mountain Ford Truck Sales as the founding financial officer. He retired from Mountain State in 2007 as the Secretary-Treasurer.

 Bob was active in his children’s lives and never missed a concert, sporting event or graduation. He enjoyed taking his family on long cross-country trips, seeing all the sights along the way, and eventually landing at a fun and unique destination. These trips included travel adventures in his Palomino pop-up trailer, travel trailer and Cobra motorhome. 

 Bob was an avid Denver Bronco fan and enjoyed attending the games with his children and grandchildren. 

 When the grandchildren began arriving, he made special time for them and they fondly recall going to the park, being picked up from school and cheering them on at sports events. Bob’s children and grandchildren were his greatest joy.

 Bob is survived by his wife of 69 years, Janet, 4 sons Jeffery, Joel, Gregory, and Michael (Natalie), daughter Suzanne (Harris), grandchildren Collin (Sarah) and Connor Walentine, Korie (Quint), Ryan and Zachary (Kaiya) Walentine, Jack and Lexanne Harris, Gabriel (Nielsen), Sasha, Ivan and Michaela Walentine and one great-grandchild, Declan Walentine. 

 Bob was preceded in death by his son, Curtis, grandson Brandon and son-in-law Stewart.

 A memorial service will take place at Horan & McConaty 7577 W. 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado 80003, on Wednesday, March 12th at 11:00 a.m. with a light lunch immediately after. Internment will be for immediate family at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
