Roberta Distefano

Roberta Alice Plunkett was born on September 18, 1928 in Burbank, California to Robert and Marie Plunkett. She passed away on January 28, 2021 in her beloved home in Lakewood, Colorado. She was one of six children and enjoyed her years growing up in Englewood, Colorado where she attended Englewood High School and graduated at age 16. She was nicknamed "Rach" in high school, and went by that name for most of her adult life. She studied at the Colorado State College of Education, now the University of Northern Colorado, where she met Paul, her husband of sixty-one years. She delighted in various social activities with her lifelong friends, including bowling and bridge, but her true joy was found in caring for her family. After raising her children, she took on a new challenge as a Retail Associate and later Manager for Colorado Baggage. She was adored by many for her quick wit, love of people, and recollection of people and places from her childhood and beyond.

She is predeceased by Paul; sisters Bernice, Pearl, Shirley, Marge, and twin brother Robert. She is survived by daughters Susan (Pete) Paradise, Leslie (Randy) Sabey, Lisa (Dave) Wells, and Mary Kay (Matt) Hogan; eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. The family wishes to express it's eternal gratitude to Rach's dedicated caregivers Elena and Comfort, as well as her loving healthcare providers Hannah and Faith from Elevation Hospice. A private service will be held on February 10, 2021 at Holy Name Parish.
