Roberta Sisneros

November 4, 1935 — December 10, 2023

Roberta Sisneros died on December 10 at the age of 88.  She was born in Chicago to Theodore and Augusta (Tautkus) Slowinski.  However, she grew up in Marion, IN, where her family moved when she was young.  In Marion she met her husband Tom when he came to Marion to work at RCA.   In 1957 she graduated from Holy Cross School of Nursing in South Bend, IN.  After her graduation, Roberta and Tom were married in Marion on November 30, 1957.

Roberta and Tom lived in Indiana and Long Island NY before moving to Denver in 1972.During those years,  Roberta worked as an RN before changing careers in 1977 when she went to work at the Colorado State Compensation Insurance Fund (now Pinnacol).  She became the staff assistant to the Manager of Claims before retiring in 1989.

Roberta had an extensive collection of unique boxes, and she was always on the lookout for special boxes to add to her collection whenever she traveled.  She also was a passionate reader especially of history and historical novels and some mysteries and enjoyed belonging to book clubs.

She is survived by her husband Tom of Highlands Ranch, daughters Carolyn of Knoxville, TN., Lisa (and Carol Bush) of Denver, and son Louis of Evergreen.  She was preceded in death by her son John and her brother John Slowinski.  She is also survived by a grandson Jason, granddaughter Shawna, and two great grandsons.

A funeral mass will be held at Wind Crest in Highlands Ranch on Friday, January 5, at 10:00 am.  Interment will follow that afternoon at Mt. Olivet in Wheat Ridge.
