Robert "Bob" Mcfarland

Robert “Bob” D. McFarland, 93, peacefully passed away on 9th of April 2023, at home surrounded by loved ones.  Bob was born, 11th of August 1929 to Russell and Edith McFarland in Quincy, Illinois.  After Bob graduated from Englewood High School with the class of 1947, he enlisted in the Navy and served during the Korean conflict.  After the military, Bob, worked at the Englewood Fire Department for 20 years and retired as Captain in Charge of Training.  Following his service, Bob worked at Lockheed Martin for nearly 15 years.

On October 19th, 1962, Bob met Jackie on a blind date.  They were married at the Chapel of the Angels in Lakewood, CO in October the 19th, 1963—the one-year anniversary of the day they met.  Together, Bob and Jackie, have four children, 9 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.

In his retirement, Bob stayed active in the community and enjoyed countless rounds of golf and regularly met with the “Exhausted Roosters” club of the United States Junior Chamber.

Bob was preceded by his mother and father, his brothers Carroll Wheeler and Kay McFarland, and grandson Derrick McFarland.  Bob is survived by his wife Jackie McFarland, and his children Cindy, Doug, Shelley, and Regina.
