On September 23rd, Bob Sage peacefully passed away at home in the presence of many of his loving family members. Bob was born on December 30, 1930 in Denver, Colorado.
In June 1948, Bob graduated from West High School in Denver. He attended University of Colorado, Boulder, and was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served our country from January 1951 through December 1954. While stationed at Litchfield Park Naval Air Facility in Phoenix, Arizona, Bob met Barbara on a blind date. It was love at first sight, and they were married in January 1953.
After completing 4 years of service, Bob resumed his college education and graduated from Arizona State University in May 1957. He worked as a police officer in the City of Mesa, Arizona until he was hired on as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation from 1961 to 1983. He received numerous commendations for solving many high-profile cases.
Bob continued in private consulting after retiring from the FBI. He then held multiple corporate top security positions, including serving as Security Manager for the Denver Tech Center and Meridian Business Center. From 1986 to 2005, Bob also helped oversee security for the annual PGA International Tournaments at Castle Pines Golf Club.
Bob was an avid golfer, and he loved to camp with his family and friends. Over the years, he also enjoyed scuba diving, dirt bike riding, hunting, fishing, and cheering for the Denver Broncos.
Bob is preceded in death by Barb (his loving bride of 65 years). He is survived by his five children: Jeannie (Bill) of Chico, California; Dave (Ann) of Woodland Hills, California; Kevin of Kiowa, Colorado; Michelle (David) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and Phil (Laura) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and nine grandchildren. Bob is deeply loved and greatly missed.
Bob’s graveside service will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery on October 16th at 10:15 AM. Due to COVID restrictions, attendance is limited to family, and all attendees must wear a mask.
Following the graveside service, there will be a reception at The Club at Ravenna (8250 Palladio Court in Littleton) from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
