September 17, 1950 — February 2, 2022

Roberto Zamora-Padilla, age 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 2nd. His sons were by his side in his final moments before he went to his resting place with God.

He was born in Cinco de Mayo, Durango, Mexico to Monica Padilla and Elfego Zamora. He was the oldest of 13 children. At a young age Roberto had no choice but to work and help support his family, in this time he learned how to bake bread. He enjoyed baking and throughout the years protected his recipes. For many years he was able to share his wonderful baking with his family and others. A very talented gift that will be missed by his loved ones. Education was never a set back for Roberto, he went on to open his own business, running a store “Tienda La Envidia’.

He also loved the game of Baseball and for many years played the sport himself. He was 1 of 100 that were selected to play in the Mexican National league. However, he set sails for America. It was his goal to become a citizen, a goal he eventually accomplished. This accomplishment was something he was very proud of.

Another accomplishment he held near and dear to his heart, was the purchase of his first home. Hooker St. Those that know him, know how special his home was to him. Many years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears were spent on his property, making it home.

During the early chapters of his life in America he had two sons. Roberto Zamora “Beto” and Jose Zamora. He enjoyed being a dad and loved spending time with them. He was a man of hard work and dedication, and these qualities and lessons he taught will live on. He was no stranger to helping his family when they were in need. His giving heart will be truly missed, he blessed so many of his loved ones.

Roberto loved music and was always singing or humming a tune. His vibrant and carefree spirit was contagious. He taught his grandchildren to laugh and not take things so seriously. His joking demeanor would brighten up a room and no one was safe from a joke or two. His signature silver locks attracted so many compliments and Roberto never knew a stranger. He would talk with anyone who would talk with him. He loved to have light and fun conversations. His personality and warm heart are truly irreplaceable.

One cannot forget the love he had for his animals, from pigs to dogs, he loved his animals whole heartedly. Early in his life he owned a pig ranch in Juarez, Mexico. At one point gracing the newspaper in Mexico for having some of the best pigs in Juarez. Throughout his life he had many animals, but Roberto loved his Chihuahua’s more than anything in this world, his love for them was unmatched. There wasn’t a place he went without them by his side. His family will never forget how they followed behind him.
